Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at 9.20 pm marks the beginning of the new edition of “Petrolio”, the in-depth program hosted by Duilio Giammaria and broadcast in prime time on Rai3. Once again, the goal of the show is to search, analyze, and promote the richness that Italy possesses. The focus will be on artistic and cultural treasures, as well as on entrepreneurial skills and talents waiting to be utilized, likened to the “black gold” of the country.

Far from being a typical talk show, Petrolio presents itself as an assertive and community-oriented program designed for the broad audience of mainstream television. The host engages with the international scientific community, drawing on their most reliable studies. Additionally, updates on the latest research will be featured. Each episode of the program, inspired by the tradition of dissemination and investigative journalism, will include reports, investigations, and life stories.

THE PREVIEW AND GUESTS OF THE FIRST EPISODE OF PETROLIO 2024 ON RAI3

In tonight’s premiere of Petrolio 2024, Tuesday, February 27, the focus will be on a narrative dedicated to international Big Oil companies. All of them were aware of the climate emergency about 50 years ago. Today, we are experiencing the effects of the climate crisis worldwide and witnessing how the climate has changed and impacted the planet around us. In Italy alone, there have been 80,000 premature deaths due to pollution and 110 billion in damages from catastrophic climate events.

These alarming statistics require an immediate response. One of the primary goals is to reduce CO2 and greenhouse gases. However, achieving this milestone poses new challenges for our country and the world. From hydrogen to photovoltaics, what are the solutions to heal the planet? Among the guests of the first episode are historian of science Naomi Oreskes, Monsignor Vincenzo Paglia, Alessandro Lanza from the Eni Enrico Mattei Foundation, journalists Lorenzo Colantoni and Giuseppe Oddo, environmental epidemiologist Paola Michelozzi, and poet Gloria Riggio.

Stay tuned for this and much more in the premiere episode of “Petrolio” airing on Rai3.
