PAMELA PETRAROLO, ILARIA GALASSI, AND ELEONORA CECERE: A REUNION FOR A CAUSE
The former girls of “Non è la Rai”, Pamela Petrarolo, Ilaria Galassi and Eleonora Cecere, have reunited and from their collaboration has emerged the new track “Sola tu mi vuoi” (Only you want me). A song with a light rhythm but with a current and delicate theme, such as that of toxic love. “Sola tu mi vuoi” is an anthem, a cry of hope for all women to free themselves from those who hide oppression within the folds of a relationship.
INTERVIEW WITH PAMELA PETRAROLO, ILARIA GALASSI, AND ELEONORA CECERE
We had the exclusive opportunity to interview Pamela Petrarolo, Ilaria Galassi, and Eleonora Cecere, who told us more about this collaboration: “We were all three invited to Storie Italiane and at the end of the episode, Eleonora Daniele proposed that we interpret a song written by her in collaboration with Francesco Boccia. We immediately accepted, first and foremost for the theme of the song, and also because in addition to being colleagues, we are also friends.”
The song conveys an important message: that women still have difficulty breaking free from a patriarchal society. Eleonora Cecere emphasizes how in everyday news, femicides are now commonplace: “Every year, there are more and more women who are killed by their ex-partners or husbands. As a woman, these news scare me a lot because there is now a fear of leaving the house. In our own small way, we tried to make a contribution by delivering an important message to women who are victims of violence. We want to make them understand that they need to ask for help and we also offer our support to those who request it.”
Pamela Petrarolo believes that emotional education in schools is not enough to solve this plague: “We all need to take a step back. Nobody is perfect and even parents need to question themselves. Certainly, the family plays a fundamental role in educating respect for women and equality, as does the school. It is important to create places of aggregation where positive messages and examples can be spread to the youth.”
Turning the page, we talk about the just-passed edition of the Sanremo Festival and ask them which was their favorite song. Ilaria has no doubts: “Angelina Mango had stage presence, style, originality, as well as a great humanity and sensitivity.”
Eleonora mentions Ricchi e Poveri, while Pamela names Irama and Alessandra Amoroso. The three girls from Non è la Rai do not exclude the idea of participating in the Sanremo competition in the future: “It would be wonderful. If this song had come out earlier, we might have had time to present it, who knows.”
Pamela, Eleonora, and Ilaria became popular thanks to “Non è la Rai”, a program that marked the history of Italian TV, and is still talked about today: “We left a mark. It was a program that had a lot of beauty, simplicity, and also fun.”
However, the success of Non è la Rai has never destabilized them. Pamela Petrarolo revealed: “The danger of getting into borderline situations can exist, especially if you don’t have a solid foundation and a solid education. I didn’t have such a strong awareness to know what would happen after Non è la Rai. I only experienced the ups and downs of emotions every time I got on that stage.”
Two years ago, Petrarolo was a castaway on “L’Isola dei Famosi”. She still has fond memories of that experience: “I had doubts before leaving, but then I enjoyed it fully. And if I were to have another opportunity like this in five years, I would be happy. It is the only reality show in which you put yourself totally at stake, both mentally and physically. After a month, I came back home stronger than before. I learned to fish, swim, climb trees to pick mangoes. I also overcame many fears since I suffered from vertigo.”
So far, Eleonora and Ilaria have never participated in reality shows. While Ilaria is in favor, Eleonora admits not wanting to take part in this type of program: “Right now, I would say no. Until last year, I really wanted to participate because the reality show could have been an opportunity to challenge myself. But now I’m working on other projects, like the single and a book that is coming out.”
As for Grande Fratello, Pamela admits to having really appreciated Fiordaliso: “I was saddened when she left. She was a character out of the ordinary, ironic, a great discovery. Another contestant I like is Perla because, unlike Temptation Island, she is finally showing courage. I believe she could make it to the final or even win.”
At the end of the conversation, an idea ignites for the three former “Non è la Rai” girls: wouldn’t you like to participate in “Tale e Quale Show”? Eleonora, Pamela, and Ilaria light up and answer in unison: “Yes, it would be fun.”
Who knows if Carlo Conti is listening.
