Alberto Angela is back with a new special, this time with ‘Ulisse – Normandy, 80 years since the landing’. Let’s see together when it will air.
ULISSE SPECIAL: NORMANDY, 80 YEARS SINCE THE LANDING
In a special dedicated to history, art, and culture, Alberto Angela will center the story on the Normandy Landing. On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the Allies’ landing (which took place on June 6, 1944), the fundamental stages of an event that changed the world’s destiny will be retraced. Directly from the sites where peace was built, Alberto Angela will meet some of the protagonists of those days, taking us to discover the crucial places for the end of the war. The appointment with the special ‘Ulisse – Normandy, 80 years since the landing’ is scheduled for Monday, June 3, 2024, in prime time at 9.30 pm on Rai1.
WHAT TO EXPECT?
Thanks to artificial intelligence, the special will include some original colorized footage from the era, enriched by valuable testimonies.
LOCATIONS AND TESTIMONIES
As explained by Alberto Angela, in addition to recounting the story of that day, we will hear the testimonies of those who experienced it firsthand:
“We managed to interview a 100-year-old man, a paramedic, a survivor of that first tragic wave.”
In his journey, Alberto Angela starts from England where the D-Day was planned. We will see a light cruiser of the British Royal Navy that participated in the operation providing support to the Allied landing ships. Furthermore, the headquarters of the Allied command led by General Dwight Eisenhower will be shown, where the map of the invasion can still be seen today. In Normandy, Alberto Angela will show the bunkers before concluding the journey on Omaha Beach.
The special promises to be a poignant and informative journey through one of the most critical moments of the 20th century. Don’t miss it on Rai1 on Monday, June 3, 2024.
